One month down
One month down, and I can already see my photography improving. I think most of it has been getting back to the level I was shooting at back before I graduated from college. I’ve rather enjoyed getting outside and spending a few hours photographing each weekend. I’ve been able to explore more places around the Snoqualmie Valley and find some excellent shots that I’ll have to remember to visit at different times of the year.
Additionally, I’ve been watching countless hours of Youtube videos on composition and using Lightroom. Both have come in handy and will continue to do so. Nigel Danson, James Popsys, and Mark Denney are the main three I’ve been watching and have given me some great ideas; as well as an itch to travel back to the UK and to Iceland. Go check them out if you’d also like some photography tips.
January ended with my 33rd birthday. For my birthday I bought myself a gift, as is my tradition for the last eight years or so. Each year my gift to myself seems to go up in price. This year I bought myself a Canon Prograf pro-300. A high-end photo printer. It prints up to 13x19 photos and 13x39 panoramas. Aside from just being able to see my art printed; (An amazing feeling by the way, you should try it) It also is a foundational step towards being able to sell art prints of my photographs.
In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be working on setting up an online store to purchase prints of my photographs. So keep an eye out for that. And you know, maybe support my growth as a photographer.
