Welcome to Utah
Hello everyone. It’s been several months since I last made a post on here. You may have noticed that my October and November photos are not of things and places in Washington. That is because the last few months of my life have veered in a new direction. At the end of September, I left the beautiful state of Washington and moved back to Utah. I’ve started a new position as an educator at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. I miss being able to spend so much time exploring the outdoors. But the aquarium has presented new challenges and growth opportunities for me that for now at least I believe will be beneficial to me in the long term.
While I figure out this new paradigm, my photography has had to take a back seat. I haven’t been able to get out and shoot as much as I’d like. Additionally, I’m adapting to the new landscape and discovering new things and places to photograph. To that end, in the coming weeks I’ll be starting a new section on the website for photo projects that I’ll be undertaking. The first will be to photograph the entire alphabet in the form of various objects, no actual letters allowed. Feel free to play along and share with me your photos of the alphabet.
I will also be starting a throwback Thursday, or something like that. I’ll probably happen on Sundays, because that is when I have the time to develop and post photography. Look out for the first one coming tomorrow!
Change is rarely an enjoyable experience. It is often fraught with pain, distress, and uncertainty. But through those things comes a new tomorrow and the promise of growth if you embrace the change and learn from it. The change of seasons brings new opportunities, both in life and in photography. And I’m excited to discover what each has to hold for me in the coming months.
